Regxta emerges winner of PITCH2WIN4 startup competition

Regxta has emerged the winner of the fourth edition of the Pitch2Win startup competition, bagging a prize of $10,000 in equity-free funding and an all-expense-paid trip to IVS2024, Kyoto, Japan's largest startup conference.

Regxta is an inclusive digital platform that offers quick and easy access to financial services for unbanked individuals and micro-businesses in rural and peri-urban communities across Africa. Founded in 2021 by Rukayat Bello, Afis Bello, and Moses Obika, Regxta aims to bridge the financial inclusion gap in these communities.

At the event on June 12, Rukayat Bello, Co-founder of Regxta, delivered a brilliant and energetic pitch before a panel of judges consisting of Tosin Faniro-Dada, Partner at Breega; Yuzuru Honda, President and Global CEO of Freakout Holdings; Lynda Saint-Nwafor, Chief Enterprise Officer at MTN Nigeria; Hiro Mashita, Director at SGgrow; and Ireayo Oladunjoye, Managing Director of Endeavor.

Rukayat's pitch showcased her heart and passion, impressing both the judges and the audience. Her energetic presentation earned her a round of applause, laughter, and cheers from the crowd. One of the highlights of her pitch session was her response to Tosin Faniro-Dada's question about how Regxta stands out. Rukayat responded with, "Our direct competitors are traditional microfinance banks, which are very bureaucratic in their processes and take up to two weeks to one month to disburse funds to customers. Our customers receive money immediately, within five minutes. They don't need to queue, and we don't need to pack them like sardines just because they want to get loans."

In typical Pitch2Win fashion, an additional prize was announced on the day: “the Sponsors’ Choice”. Preggify emerged as the sponsors' choice, winning an all-expense-paid trip to IVS2024 in Kyoto. This was announced by Hiro Mashita, Director of SGgrow. Preggify, founded in 2022 by Ifunanya  Igweze and Temitayo Daniel, offers 24-hour doctor-led care for pregnant women.
