Klasha launches in Ghana to facilitate cross border payments and e-commerce
Klasha, a startup that simplifies borderless payments for commerce in Africa is now in Ghana
Klasha has launched in Ghana as part of expansion to enable swift cross border payments and e-commerce across Africa.
The San Francisco and Lagos-based fintech company's intention is to ensure that merchants are able to leverage Ghana's $429 million e-commerce economy, which is expected to rise to $811 million by 2024.
With this expansion, the Klasha mobile app is now available in Ghana with added functionalities, including instant transfers of money between Ghana and Nigeria. We have also introduced a multi-currency wallet, giving users the option to hold, exchange and send money in different currencies at the best rate for free.
Responding to its first expansion within Africa Edidiong Ekong, Marketing Manager of Klasha, said, "We are excited to bring our innovative payment and commerce solutions to power Ghana's e-commerce growth. In the coming months, we will expand to more countries to facilitate seamless e-commerce and cross-border payments."
Meanwhile, Jesse Anuna, the CEO of Klasha believes that the company's solution will remove payment and last-mile delivery barriers.
"Before now, international online and offline businesses faced the challenge of accepting online payments from Africa and even delivering items to Ghana '' with this expansion "it will be easier and faster for retailers to collect online payments in Ghana, manage payouts and expand seamlessly", he said.
This expansion is coming a week after the raised $2.5 million in a seed funding round.
