Beyond Nigeria Summit convenes young entrepreneurs, investors and stakeholders in the tech ecosystem from across the country to drive conversations around growth and acceleration beyond the shores of Nigeria.

Innovation Corner, a pan-African social innovation centre using technology to solve social problems and supporting Nigerian tech ecosystem with immersive learning, will be hosting two sessions of its Beyond Nigeria Summit in June and July, respectively.

Beyond Nigeria Summit convenes young entrepreneurs, investors and stakeholders in the tech ecosystem from across the country to drive conversations around growth and acceleration beyond the shores of Nigeria. Innovation Corner, together with its partners and sponsors, will build on the success of the first session of the Summit which held on Saturday, May 11.

The sessions in June and July will feature panel discussions and keynote speeches by top entrepreneurs and thought leaders. Business leaders from Microsoft, AB InBev, Seamfix and SeamlessHR will discuss issues pertinent for idea and early-stage businesses to scale beyond Nigeria.

We have identified a gap in the social innovation space with regards to human-centered design for social problems and support for idea and early-stage businesses in Africa. So, we are happy to co-create solutions and support startups with prototyping, learning and network in partnership with corporate and governmental organisations as we are doing with Aluko & Oyebode and the UK government as sponspors and Greenhouse Capital and Trep Labs as partners.

The debut session of Beyond Nigeria on May 11 had on the podium as speakers: Idongesit Udoh [Head of Digital Access Program at the UK High Commission], Mary Joseph [Associate at Greenhouse],  Osiri Ndukwe [Associate - Intellectual Property & Technology Law at Aluko and Oyebode], Chidi Koldsweat [CEO of Donors for Africa] and Seun Dosunmu [Executive Director at Across All Initiative] and

According to Guy Harrison, Head of Prosperity at UK's High Commission, the UK Government is passionate about technology as the new frontier for economic development in Nigeria.

We are committed to supporting Nigeria's tech ecosystem to thrive.

Guy explained that as part of their support to the ecosystem, the UK Foreign Secretary on his last visit to Nigeria took a tour of the tech ecosystem in Abuja.

Additional partners for the June and July sessions of Beyond Nigeria Summit include MTN Foundation, Hypecity, Smepeaks and Microsoft.

About Innovation Corner

Prior to establishing Innovation Corner in 2017, Tochukwu Egesi worked with First City Monument Bank (FCMB).

Innovation Corner launched Beyond Nigeria Summit following its participation in the two weeks Go Global Africa programme in March 2019, alongside 20 other startups from Africa, including ThriveAgric, Piggybank (now Piggyvest), HelpMum and Social Lender.

Through the Innovation Corner's innovation team, products such as Rem Health and Blueform have been developed. Rem Health is an automated management and reminder system for immunization for mothers powered by USSD, SMS and voice technology.
